Hey there Scotty am looking to by a used car Ford Edge sel 2015 model FWD currently it’s sitting on 144,000km it has been maintained through dealership and all service records are available. It’s only registered to original owner and has taken care of the car. My only concern is that it had a factory recall where the transmission was changed and a new one has been put through ford dealership with a 2year warranty. Should I go ahead and make the purchase or should I stay away from the car? Kindly help
I'm not gonna trust a car with a transmission recall because even if they recall them their replacing the entire trans. Better off getting something else.
Pass on it and get something else. The Edge is very popular on the pre-owned market, so it shouldn't be hard to find one you like without the transmission issues.
I wouldn't be afraid of it. The transmission Ford installed will have the latest upgrade fixes.
