I have a 2005 Ford Explorer XLT 128,000

While driving on the highway OD started flashing. Scanned code P1744. If  I drive with OD off error won't come on, also shifting is normal. Oil level and condition are good, changed every 30,000 miles. Planning on replace celenoid pack. Looking for second opinion. Thanks in advance.

If you've been keeping up with your fluid and filter, it's probably the clutch converter solenoid valve that needs replacement.

Where is that clutch converter solenoid valve located? On the 5R55S I can only see the selenoid pack.

It's under the trans pan, inside the trans.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but on the 5r55S there is only one electrical connector and it is only to the selenoid pack

I'm looking at the schematic and I don't see any other selenoid.

It doesn't really matter because your transmission is stuck in overdrive and it will cost almost as much to fix the problem as it would to go get a rebuilt transmission.

Looks like you don't know anything about the 5r55s. But thanks anyway.
