Timing belt question

Scotty, I've got a 03' Toyota Tundra 4.7l 4x4 with 53k miles on it. I bought it from a family friend earlier this year. Should I be concerned

about driving it right now? Thanks Sam

If the timing belt is original (18 years old), or for that matter more than 6 or 7 years old, replace it ASAP. Rubber deteriorates with time as well as wear.

Also, unlike a lot of toyota engines with a timing belt, it is an interference engine and will likely damage it if the belt breaks. It is a great engine, but better change that belt asap.
