Do I need to replace brake fluid on FORD MONDEO - ST LINE - 2019?

I've been told by a girl in a call centre that when having my Ford Mondeo serviced I should have the break fluid changed.  Cost £49.99 plus 20% sales tax.  I can't believe this is necessary, but I would like reassurance.  It's a main Ford dealer and they also tried to sell me an engine flush for £20 plus tax.  Help please.  Are my instincts correct?

These days all of the auto manufacturers are recommending that the brake fluid be replaced every 3 years.

It makes sense to do it but personally I don't see any harm in waiting until it's time to replace your brake pads and rotors to do it.

However, let me just say this about that. There's nothing special about the type of brake fluid in your Fusion.
.
It's the same as I use in my 2001 Ford Ranger. I've never replaced the brake fluid in it. It still has the original master cylinder in it. Original front brake calipers too
.
The only brake fluid that's ever been replaced in it is when I've had to replace a wheel cylinder or pads/shoes and needed to bleed the air out
.
It's closing in on 200,000 miles. The little truck stops on a dime

Same exact experience for me.

The dealer is just trying to rip you off.  Your instincts are correct.  Never go to a dealer.  Find an independent mechanic who will work with you.

Scotty says test it first

those testers are total junk. I would avoid them.

@mmj why? Are they innacurate?

very much so

Interesting that Scotty recommednds it then.

Scotty is a human being, not a god.

As a mechanic he should know.

Nobody knows everything. Even mechanics make mistakes.

That is right. But with decades of experience he probably knows what works and what doesn't.
And those testers are not from yesterday. How do you know they don't work?

"probably"
See for yourself. Buy two testers and stick them in the same fluid. See if you get the same reading.

I'm sad to report that 2 years or 30k miles is the suggested brake fluid change interval. Your owners manual may confirm. It's the same for all 2019 Fords from what I can tell. I'm past due as well......

It was done on my Auris too last year as part of service interval.

There's a tester in my Amazon shopping cart . Thanks for posting the video. 💡

You are welcome.
