Hey guys/Scotty, saw this car that I’m considering as my first car. Give me your thoughts and anything you might have to say about the Ford Taurus as a car (reliability, maintenance, issues etc.) thanks!
I had a 2001 Taurus ses. The intake manifolds are prone to leaking coolant into the engine. The auto trans missions aren't the best. It's a comfortable car to be sure, but make sure to have the coolant system pressure tested. And replace the radiator hoses as the car is 16 years old and if original condition, they are living on borrowed time. Mine blew and fried the head gasket. Probably not what you wanted to hear. I'd pass, the V6 Cyclone engines are bad with expensive water pump designs and the V6 EcoBoost if its that one is even worse. The price is also high considering they have basically no resale value.
