Hi Scotty, I just placed the order for my new work van. Is a fort transit limited 2.0 ecoboost 4 cylinder diesel with 170 hp 6 speed automatic. That is the best money can buy as a new van in the UK right now, without going crazy on the budget.
Ford services every 20000 miles, i do not agree.
My ideea:
1000 miles - end of brake in engine - engine, gearbox, rear dif oil change
7000 miles and every 7k to follow - engine oil change, injector purge, valve spray clean
60k - all oils again, glow plugs,
70k miles - wet belt timing kit to be replaced by mechanic
100 k miles - drop interval to 6000 miles oil change,

My driving: i start car, i warm up 1-2 min on idle, i drive easy first 5 miles to warm up completely, than i drive in range of 1500-2500 rpm. I have about 1/3 of the max load in the car at all times, just tools. I rarely do city driving, side roads and highway mostly. I do not tow anything. I am the only driver. I am ocd and really like to take care of my cars alone, I am also cheap and do not want to pay dealer. I have a local mechanic that also service my bmw and wifes smart, I use him since long relationship and i trust him. Have examined his work many times.
Please advise if I should do something else or different . As i payed 38000 gbp for this van and now i need to have it for at least 200.000 miles to get back on my investment. Thank you.
No your plans sound solid to me
