Scotty i have a friends who had a 2000 dodge grand caravan and constantly replaced the oil and transmission fluid and collant along with thier filters every year and did oil changes every 3 months and every 3 years would replace the head gasket, valve cover gaskets, power steering pump, brake pads, brake fluid and power steering fluid all himself at home and drove it with the original transmission for 500k miles before getting it rebuilt and was constantly driving it across the country, any thoughts?

Highway miles put about a quarter of the wear on the car rather than city driving. Im sure this played a role in how it lasted so long. As well as being well maintained and probably driven softly.
