how often should i use fuel additives/cleaners to my auto
Why?
ideally, never
i understand but also seen scotty doing a vid "promoting " gumout fuel cleaner just made me wonder
Not sure which vid you mean. How old is it?
But if everything is running smoothly then you don't need additives.
Gumout might be ok to try if you're having issues like misfiring, cylinder imbalance, etc.
Alcohol is a quite vague term. DOT 3 brake fluid is alcohol, regular gasoline has ethanol, in this case, E10, which is another alcohol, then there's isopropyl alcohol, otherwise known as rubbing alcohol, methanol... Regular gasoline already has ethanol in it.
is it ok to pour some alcohol through a full tank of gas ever so often ?

No. You already asked this question, and the answer is still the same. It's in the video I posted: only put gasoline in the fuel tank.

As long as you use Top Tier gas, you most likely will never need to use fuel additive.
In some countries/climates, Toyota has it in their manual to use some sort of additive every x amount of miles. But that is an edge case.
