Fuel advice

Hi i figured everytime I top my tank, it burns less fuel, than when it's half or lower, (don't know if it's just in ma head or it actually happens, but I feel it does) is it safe to keep topping everytime it reaches half or 2/3?

Also I might end up refilling it at different stations based on when it reduces much.

Thank you for your responses.

It burns the same. The difference is the needle tends to move faster once it comes off the full mark. Normal for almost all cars.

I fill my vehicles at a half tank. Always have. No harm done. Your fuel pump will last longer too as most use the fuel to keep cool while running.

mod_man is right. Tanks are not perfect and box shaped. The needle on your gauge is only a rough estimate.

In fact, your car is slightly less fuel efficient when the tank is full because it's heavier.
