Hello Scotty,
I have a Honda that's giving very bad mileage. It's a new car and I'm the only owner.
Model/Year - Honda City I-VTEC / 2009
Transmission - Manual Petrol
Kms Driven - 185000
OBDII Codes - P0141
I do regular service such as changing the engine oil, air filter, oil filter, cabin air filter and coolant. I also changed my brake pads and spark plugs recently.
I have never changed my fuel filter or fuel pump till date.
The problem is the fuel mileage and when I ask my mechanic to change the fuel filter, he says there's no fuel filter for this car. I'm very confused and frustrated here. Another guy says it's in the engine and doesn't need to be changed.
The symptoms I'm facing are:
1) Feeble vibration at idle
2) Sputtering in 1st and 2nd gears
3) Bad fuel mileage
4) Low power, car feels heavy
Please help me as I love my car but the fuel is burning a hole in my pocket.
The filter is attached to the fuel pump inside the tank. Have the fuel pressure tested and go from there.
It's not really a filter per-se. I think it's called a strainer. It's attached to the fuel pump and inside the tank.
