I have a 2009 Nissan Frontier XE, automatic. My mechanic told me it does not have a fuel filter. Is this true? I searched on several auto parts sites and all they show for my vehicle is a 'universal' add on filter. Thanks for your help!

Well it does have a filter but it's inside the gas tank part of the fuel pump assembly as long as it runs okay I would leave it alone. If worried Josh you could install an inline filter that you could easily replace anytime you wanted to

my 2000 frontier has a filter "sock" attached to the pump in the tank and an inline attached to the frame rail
the inline was original equipment as it had a skid plate protecting it

Thanks! I will look at the frame and see if mine has one. Saw that on a YT video also.
