I have a buzzing sound on fuel pump in my 2008 GMC Sierra intank.fuel pump. Can I pull the pump and clean the filter . Is it possible. I just want to spend as little money as possible.
you have to drop the tank anyway. not something you'll want to do again. If you're going that far, my advice is to have a new pump on hand.
It appears that fuel pump has a strainer, so it should be possible to attempt cleaning it. (That's looking up a 1500 series with 5.3 V8. You did not provide any vehicle details.) It's more likely though that the sound indicates the pump itself is wearing out.
