What is the average lifespan of a fuel pump and will you use aftermarket rather than OEM?

It all depends on how it was used. If you are type of person that likes to run low on fuel, the life span is short.
I would use the OEM.
Is 1/4 tank of fuel consider low?
I consider it low.

Never let a fuel injected vehicle get below 1/4 tank.
