Scotty I have a 2017 Honda Accord Touring with the V6 and 37k mi. Not every time but most of the time, especially more when reversing, I can hear my car make a quick sound that sounds like a diesel engine only in the first second of accelerating. This also happens when I’m cruising at a relatively low speed and then I give it some gas to go fast. I use my car daily for delivering pizza and it does idle ALOT. What do you think this could possibly be. Also what are your thoughts on Amsoil? Thanks so much keep up the great videos, I watch them all!
Can you please make a YouTube video of the noise & post the link here?
It will be hard to capture it in a video as it is not a very loud sound but I will try my best.
Also just some more info, it is not a constant sound. When idling it sounds perfectly fine even when cruising but like I said the second I hit the gas, for 1 solid second, it sounds like a diesel and then the sound is gone. This almost always happens when I come to a stop and shift into reverse and tap the gas. I was thinking it’s something trans related (I wouldn’t be surprised this trans is very delayed and clunky for only 37k mi) because it sounds like this happens when the trans is downshifting before it gets into gear but im not sure.

I got it to act up while parked in drive. Hopefully you can hear it. Unfortunately its still making this sound and every time I bring it to Honda they have no idea what it is.
Amso is a very good lubricant company nice for the noise make a YouTube video and place the URL here and we will listen pray it's not something going wrong with the variable valve timing. To actually pinpoint a noise watch my video finding the source of car noises Scotty
