would it be a good idea to run Chevron with Techron gas on a road trip to clean your engine or it would not matter much?
I personally think all the major brands of gasoline are more or less the same. I haven't noticed any differences. They all have detergents in them.
As long as it is Top Tier gas, which Chevron is. I personally use Costco Top Tier gas. I’ll use Chevron when there is nothing else cheaper that is Top Tier.
I always use Shell, myself. Any Top Tier gas is otherwise more or less the same. Interestingly, they don't tell you what makes gas "Top Tier". They're "trade secrets". Techron is just wasting money.
Cheapest Top Tier gas is Costco (at least where I live), so don't spend money on brand names. FYI, I've seen the same company take gas for Costco and for Arco.
