I bought 2 different brands of fuel sending units for my mothers 1964 Plymouth Valiant convertible. Neither seem to delivery the correct fuel level to the fuel gauge. Why is it so hard to find a fuel sending unit that will accurately depict the amount of fuel in the tank? Do you have any suggestions on a fix or a brand I should try?

Problem is that's so old it's hard to find good parts especially if they have modern copies from China where they don't know what they're doing. Try hemmings motor news online guys sell just about everything there and most will give a number you can contact them
