Hey Scotty, I have a 2007 Nissan Murano and according to the specs of the car, it holds 21.7 gallons. However when I fill up my car it never passes 14 gallons. Any idea why? Love your videos
when your gauge is on 'E', you still have a reserve left in the tank. At least 60mi worth.
If that still doesn't account for it, then maybe the gas station pump shuts off prematurely. If you pull the nozzle half way out and are able to top your tank up further, then it's a tank vent issue. Have a mechanic diagnose your EVAP system.
Yeah I only got it to E once and the light came on but this is a v6 and the car just breathing loses gas lol however it’s kinda hard to gauge. But if this is a spec say 21.7 and I can only fill close to 15 gallons where is the other bit of space going to. That’s my confusion.
What are you confused about? If I only drink half of my pint glass of beer, then of course I can't pour another full pint into it.
What I’m saying is I hope I’m saying this right: I always let my car go to the very last line before E because I don’t want to be stranded anywhere with no gas. When I refill it should be close to 20 gallons when I refill it should say like a where between 17 and 19 gallons but I’m not even close if it stops at like 14 and a very close 15 gallon. So it seems like I’m missing 6 gallons of gas in the tank. I hope I’m making it clear. I don’t really want to cause confusion.
ok well gas tanks can have very odd shapes, so the gas gauge on your instrument panel isn't the most precise.
Like I said, try pulling the fueling nozzle out halfway, or filling from a jerry can, and see if it makes a difference.
