Just bought a 2007 Mercedes SLK 280. The manufacturer requires premium gasoline, however, the private seller states they never used used premium, only regular. That's 13 years of regular gas with no problems. If I put premium gas in the car now, after all those years of regular, will it ruin the engine? Will it make a difference at this point with HP?

Run premium. Not required for most cars but for this one it's really a must. It won't hurt if you occasionally have to use regular, but stick with the premium for this engine.
