Would I gain anything by using premium fuel on an FCA 5.7 Hemi?

Hey Scotty,

I'm new to your channel and this website so I'm not sure I'm doing this right. I know quite a bit about cars and engines. And in some of my previous cars I only use premium fuel while in others I would switch off depending on the use case or just every once in awhile use premium. In some of my previous cars I really noticed the difference, however, my newest car is a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7 hemi and I could not find any clear answer online regarding how this engine deals with premium fuel. I tried it a few times and I'm not sure that I feel any difference. Do you know if it is built to handle premium or if you don't know, what would your professional/educated guess be?

Thanks

Check your owners manual page 374, says to use 89 for your 5.7L engine. You can use 87, but you might get some knocking.

He is going to get some engine noise anyway, considering its made by chrysler.

I wasn't gonna go there {pear}

The only thing he'll get from using premium fuel is poverty.

Owners manual says mid grade at a minimum, premium recommended.

Running a 5.7L Hemi on the cheap stuff WILL cause knock....zero question about it. You bought an SUV with a performance engine. More expensive fuel comes with the territory.

This is one of the recurring topics I do not understand. Spending all that money on a new car and then instantly going cheap on the fuel for it. Why didn't you just buy the PentaStar V6 if you want to burn cheap gas and don't care about performance?

Premium fuel is not nitrous. You're not going to feel a difference of 10-15HP in any vehicle, especially an overweight SUV. But it is there.

I don't get it. The people who built it specifically state the fuel requirements in the owner's manual.  {black}:idontknow:
