GM OBD1 Not Flashing Code 12

Scotty,. My 1994 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 with a 454 7.4  Manual Transmission NV4500 has 1,414,000 miles on it. Last week I was leaving my neighborhood. When at the light it started missing all the sudden. I limped it home. I tried the paper clip trick to get the codes. No engine light ever came on, but I'm not even getting the Hello 12 code.

I replaced, the fuel filter, distributor, plugs and wires. Still feels like a miss and running rich also. I used a back up map sensor no change. The tbi injectors look like they are spraying fine.

This truck is all original, engine never rebuilt. I love it and for the first time ever I feel stumped. Any ideas or advice?

Thanks,

Lawnguy

Well if you're not even getting that code either you got a wiring problem or the computer itself is going bad.

Thanks Scotty. I just got done checking the wiring and it all checks out. I just took a picture of the computer and see that it says remanufactured for AC Delco on it. I've had the truck since new. I never had a computer put in it. Wondering if one of the old mechanics screwed something up years ago. Oh well off to order one. Thanks.

Did you check the bulb?

I did not check the bulb. But the truck is acting like it's in limp mode also. But I will check it as well. Thanks for the additional input. Didn't even think about that.

Update. It turned out the bulb was burnt out. I ended up getting a new computer anyway since the truck was flooded during Harvey.

After much testing on the truck. The Rick smell and strong miss turned out to be a broken pushrod.😳 I just ordered a bendable magnetic since about an inch of the lower half is missing.😭 Praying I will get it out tomorrow. Will keep you posted.
