I wondered what you'sall's favorite auto parts retailers are...
I love my local NAPA franchise - they are a small business, they go out of their way to get any part for me, always offer a great price, and have very friendly/knowledgeable staff.
Just curious. Have fun!
depends on the part. If it's something trivial, the best store is the one closest to my home.
For more expensive stuff, I call around.
The best scenario is when the online price is good and it can come right to my front door.
Interesting. I usually find it worth it to go local anyways for better support and keeping money local/supporting smaller businesses.
But if you don't need it immediately, it is quite convenient to get it shipped I suppose.
I support local businesses , but only if they don't want to gouge me
For my own personal parts, I use O'Reilly because they are 3 minutes from my house.
For work, I usually use Napa.
Depending on how quickly I need the part O’Reilly (also closest to my house), Walmart, and then online if it can wait: rockauto, oreillyauto, gmpartswarehouse.com, walmart, amazon
O'reilys cause they are the only auto parts store in town. The nearest is autozone 50mi away.
I've used them all for one thing or another. And I don't know if I really have a go-to, but I have the a few that I go to.
General Local
Stores near me are usually AutoZone or O'Reilly. I've used Napa, but they aren't as accessible to me.
I believe CarQuest and Advanced Auto are the same company. TBH, I am not really to familiar with this store, as they aren't in my area.
General Online
Online, I usually go with RockAuto. I just like their old school interface. It's easy to find things. But damn, you gotta be patient unless you want to pay the premium for fast shipping.
I do like Amazon's pricing, but sometimes I get frustrated with all the filtering I have to do to find the right part. As some parts are off by just a bit. RockAuto makes it easy to filter.
Toyota
Also online, for Toyota Parts, parts.toyota.com. It's cheaper to find it on parts.toyota.com, and pick it up at your local dealer, rather than go in person and order it from the dealer. Weird how that works. And I recommend comparing local dealer to local dealer. Sometimes the price can vary.
Honda
I haven't found my go to Honda parts store. They don't seem to have as good a system as Toyota for (cheaper) parts. I usually go to the dealer if I need an OEM part, as I couldn't find significant savings.
I generally use O'Rileys, there is one not far from me. Occasionally NAPA. But one thing I've found is that alot depends on who works there. If you get bad info or wrong parts, try another store. You want to try to find a store where they really know their stuff but that seems to be getting rare.
Awhile back I needed a resistor for my old tractor that has a 12v conversion on it. I went to other stores with no luck, but a guy at Advance (a store I don't usually use) took one look at the old resistor and knew exactly what I needed. I was really impressed and made a mental note to use them more.
I put Advance, only because it’s the closest to my house, BUT, I’ve had about the same experience at all these parts stores. And I’ve been trying to buy whatever I can within reason, online. Only because in my area, they demand everyone wear a mask at stores since last April or so.
I edited your post because it 90% off-topic. This isn't the place for that.
At least you admit you censored me.
The last part was completely irrelevant to the question, so it shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone.
NAPA, AUTO ZONE is my choice.
