"Good condition"

So I'm looking for a project car.  Something to tinker with and trade up for something else to tinker with.  But I don't want to spend a lot of money, so I am looking at low end listings on Craigslist and OfferUp.  No matter how bad the car obviously is, they always get described as "good condition"...

  • "Good condition.  The mechanic says all it needs is a new head gasket."
  • "It was in good condition when I parked it 5 years ago."
  • "Good condition.  Transmission is missing." (Did you look behind the engine?)
  • "Good condition, but you'll need to get a bonded title."

My favorite one just said "Good condition." with a picture of a truck turned over on its passenger side. 🤣

Craigslist is full of those. Their favorite word is "mint"

Would you try to sell something for money and announce it as a 'heap of crap'??? (add a nice 'Scotty laugh' here please!)

😀

if it's a heap of crap, then I would not say it's in "good condition". Anybody with a brain cell is right away going to realize I'm a lying scumbag and probably walk away.
