Hail Rebuilt title on Honda Accord

I was scrolling through my area looking for a car, and I came across a 2017 Honda Accord EXL for sale from used dealer with the 3.5 v6 earth dreams motor. Automatic. It’s been through a hail storm and has a rebuilt title. Is the hail damage the sole reason a car could get a rebuilt title? It only has 58k miles and is $7000 below market average. I think it would definitely be a good find, but just need to be sure about the nitty gritty of the rebuilt title before i drive the 2 hours to go check it out. Me and the dealer are in touch but they tend to reply slower than anything else. Thoughts? And i also know to be weary of used car lots but i’m taking this very cautiously

Well, they they have to say if it was a flood title or not. It's possible it could have and collision damage but usually if it says hail it's probably just hail. The issue is depending on the hail the windshield could be broken, pain could be chipped.

If they don't replace the windshield correct you're going to get leaks and if paint is chipped it would probably rust pretty fast unless the paint is fixed.  I looked an Acura like that and the people that rebuilt it installed the windshield without the outside seal and the seal that runs front to back on the roof was not reinstalled either. You could see that it was probably going to result in the surrounding metal to rust and possibly leak. So I passed on it not wanting to deal with it since they refused to fix it before I bought it.

You can find out more by getting the vin # and doing a google search of the vin and you will probably find the pictures of it when sold at auction so you will know what it looked like before it was repaired.

Could be a great deal, could be a dud. Things like this need a trained eye. Also, check your state law and local laws on totaled/ rebuilt titles. I think some states dont allow a vehicle to be registered once its been totaled.
