Hello Scotty
My Cherokee 98 is giving me codes P0700 and P0740. It is a AW4 transmission with 4.0 6L engine and 178200K miles. Will welcome suggestions please.

Those old Cherokees are much more robust than current models, there is really no comparison. They can run practically forever if taken care of. Check out this thread on a Jeep site where those codes were caused by an inexpensive TPS (Throttle Position Sensor):
