My car hesitate to run only in winters after cold start. After 2 kms run, all become fine, why?
We need to know more about your car (make, model, year, # km) and how cold it is when the problem occurs.
My car is 2008 model suzuki manual transmission. Problem occures when temperature is around 5 degree c
Back in the day, you needed to warm up a car before going, especially on cold days. It needed time to get to operating temperature. That’s just the way things were.
Modern cars, not so much, so we aren’t use to warning up the car.
With that said, I don’t know the root cause, besides maybe it is just weather. Maybe others will have a better idea.
I warm up engine for 4 minutes after cold start but still hesitate
Oh whoa.
Which Suzuki do you have? Can you scan it to get the codes? It can be many things that can cause this. It is only 5°C. My 2002 Swift started without problems even at lower temperatures.
Yes but no codes
What is the mileage?
Did you check the hoses? Pehaps any of them is loose. Perhaps you have vacuum leak.
Can you check spark plugs next time it hesitates? Do they look like flooded? Perhaps you have bad IAC valve.
You said when you warm up the engine and drive 2 km, it drives better. Check the vacuum leak and ngoni air filter and file filter. Pressure test the file pump too to role out their effects. If after all of these, you still have the same issue without any CEL, I would say it may be the transmission related issue. Check out your transmission with a professional mechanic. By the way, 4 min warm up, is a long time for modern cars.
In cold temperatures it takes longer. 5°C is 41°F.
