Hey Scotty I have a Volvo 2010 and it’s been leaking from the floor of the drivers seat as well as the back seat floor behind the drivers seat I brought it to a dealer and the mechanic said he has to take the tire off and everything around it to see what’s wrong, do you think that sounds right?
Does it have a sunroof? If it does some Volvo’s have 2 and some have 4 drain lines. At times they get plugged with fragmented leaf parts, pine needles, etc.. Sometimes the line becomes disconnected within the window pillar as they run down the front and rear window pillar. I had one on the drivers side leak where the window pillar meets the dash.
😉 You can check it out by opening the sunroof and find the drain lines, use a squirt bottle and inject water. Then see if water ends up on the floor there’s your problem. If it ends up on the ground inside the wheel well it’s functioning correctly.
If you are unsure where the drain lines are, pull up a Volvo parts website and look at the sunroof schematic to see where your lines are. Also note that the front drain line makes a bend at the dash level and sometimes becomes disconnected letting the water flow onto the floor.
Hope this helps.
In some Fords the "drains" will dump water on car computer stuff. At least so far you just see wet floors.
