Change oil more often. Around 3-4k. 5k tops. Don’t stretch it further.

You don't really "avoid" oil dilution. It is unavoidable by design. The high pressure fuel pump fires fuel into the motor at very high pressure. Some of that fuel travels so fast that it does not combust and winds up mixing with the oil. Thus, oil dilution.

The best things you can do:

1. Oil catch can

2. Oil change every 5k miles, no 8k or 10k intervals

I'm doing that in my Accord and am not overly worried about issues. I'd recommend similar practice with your Civic.

Use oil specified in owners manual and change oil every 4-5k miles at most and adjust accordingly for conditions.
