Hey Scotty I’m thinking of getting a Honda Civic but I want to have it with a exhaust header on it so a muffler delete and possibly a cold air intake but which civic do you think would be best for these types of mods ???

So you want to ruin it, make it obnoxiously loud, and still be slow?

Noise does not equal power. Straight piping your car just makes it obnoxiously loud with no tone and is not good for the motor.

A better way to approach this situation: Get a Civic Si. Buy a catback exhaust designed for the car that actually has a tone to it. Get a cold air intake with a larger MAF size than stock. Get a professional tune.

The only reason to open up the header flow would be if you are doing major engine modifications that require that additional flow. On a V8, long tube headers and a catback makes sense. On a 4-cylinder, leave the header alone to keep drone to a minimum in the car and avoid sounding like a ticked off weed eater.

If you want to be fast, there are turbo options to consider. But if you just want a little sound, do a catback and call it done.

Nothing like a car performance mods expert shattering your civic lawnmower muffler delete dreams.

Lol hey man sorry. I just call it like I see it.

No worries just wanted to add a touch of humor. I guess we all go into that louder exhaust phase until at some point we realize that only boys will turn their heads.

I would upvote that comment if I could simply because it's so true.

Hehe well it is what it is.

That's the first time I've heard of someone choosing a car based on exhaust

Ditto!

3.2 V6 Golf R32 has left the chat.
