Hey Scotty love your videos, so I just bought a 2018 Ford Fusion 1.5L Ecoboost with 38k miles for 14,000 from a dealership. Do you think this is a good deal? Also, recently when I start my car, about once a week I’ll hear liquid moving noises under the hood. What do you think this could be? Thanks.
air in the coolant
It is also losing coolant but I didn't see any leaks under the hood or under the car. Could these be related you think?
You already got the car. Keep up with the maintenance (especially the oil change). Have you seen any leak?
Will do thank you! No I even had a mechanic check it out and he couldn't see on, but he did say there was too low coolant as he filled it up a couple weeks ago. Could it be burning it?
HVAC systems make all kinds of noises on cars these days. Both the wife's 2015 Camry and my 2020 Accord will make fluid sloshing/air venting noises with the A/C on and the car in park. Even my 2014 Tundra Platinum did it.
My 1998 Z28 probably does it too, but I can't hear it over the cam. {black}
what's making the sloshing?
It's just the coolant inside the pressurized system. Not sure why it only happens in park (at least in my experience). One time in my Tundra I was listening to it as it was the first time I had ever heard it. I shut off the truck and it stopped. Then after about 5 seconds you could hear sloshing just like someone pouring water out. At about the 30 second mark, you could hear it all drain. Was quite odd but never had an issue or leak of any kind. Took it to Toyota and that's what they told me. Just the coolant increasing/decreasing in pressure.
Okay thanks man! Is it something I should be worried about? Or can I just drive it like normal?
Nothing to worry about my friend. Drive it as normal. 🙂
