2007 ford mustang 4.0 automatic with 200k miles.
What would you recommend with no codes?
Hey Scotty, my mustang will start and drive fine but when stopped at a light or in park it will bog down if I make any input (raising windows, turning on ac, turning on lights). Ive replaced my battery, alternator, tb, maf, distributor, spark plugs, fuel filter, and belt tensioner. Ive cleaned wire ground locations, checked for large vacuum leaks, checked for parasitic draw, and looked at some live data which told me the alternator would jump to 60% its max and the spark plug timing would advance by almost 30%. What would you recommend from here as im stumped at this point?
Well that seems like a classic sign of electrical failure. It could be in the computer or the wiring going to the computer or one of the sensors that feeds the computer going out. As long as you're absolutely positively sure the alternator is working correctly and the battery is good. And that all connections are super tight with no corrosion. You might unplug a bunch of connectors. See if there's any green corrosion inside. Good luck!
@scottykilmer will do. Ill be sure to check battery and alternator again under load. Then I'll start checking and spraying out the connectors just to be safe lol. Thank you again.
