Hello,
We have a 2008 HHR automatic with about 170k miles on it.
While driving, the brake lights stay on when in gear (reverse, neutral, forward).
We've done some research online and have tried to resolve by replacing the rear brakes, which raised the brake pedal, but the problem remains.
Could it be the brake pedal positioner switch?

Check your brake light switch. (Some are adjustable, some are not. You may need to replace it.)
