Hi scotty, I got a 2014 kia optima with automatic transmission. My car kicks and jumps when I put it in D and R, and goes away when I shift it in P or N. Also it kicks in low RPM but once I hit the highway the car runs fine. I have changed the spark plugs, cleaned the fuel injectors yet the problem still remains the same. I'm in confusion And hope you could help please. Thanks.
Did anything suspicious show up when you scanned it for codes and took a snapshot of live data for analysis?
Unfortunately no, Although I went to a mechanic who scanned it he said the problem might be from the coils. I can't afford buying any atm but I need A confirmation to make sure so I don't waste more money .
Well, you may not like the answer (thus the down vote), but the fact is that's generally the first step in diagnosing a modern computer-controlled car. The parts cannon approach rarely if ever yields a good result. If you're not able to do the scan yourself don't feel bad, most people can't, you need to find a good mechanic that has a scan tool up to the task and the knowledge of how to use it. Otherwise it's just guesswork.
Thanks for the comments. I will make sure to find one. Regardless the scan, due to your knowledge is it possible that bad coils could cause a car to jerk when I stop at red light?
I wouldn't think so, bad coils would be more likely to make the engine stumble or stall out.
