Hi scotty, Do you recommend Acura MDX 2015? because my family is bigger now and I'm thinking to buy one with 30k mile, from my friend
{black}:nerd:
I had a 2015 MDX, actually that was a lease.
I leased it for 3 years and I drove only 38000miles on it.
It had 6 speed transmission, it worked fine, but gear up and down not so quick.
Horse power and torque were great, enough for SUV. I like the earth-dream engine.
MDX uses 87 regular gas. Recommended 91 is just bolognies of marketing things. Fuel eco is good, highway road trip I got as low as 6.9L/100km(around 34 mpg?)
You mentioned your family is bigger now, so I guess you will be using the 3rd row seats of MDX. They are tiny and have very small leg room, not ideal for adults. Once you lift and use 3rd row, you only get very limited cargo space, MDX is not that large viehcle.
The dual screen Infotainment system on my 2015 was slow and hard to use, also the navigation.
Mine had ELS or ESL(I don’t remember exactly) sound system speakers, they were terrible.
The 5-projector LED headlights were super bright. They had middle-finger-level brightness.
I don’t know if you can find a 2 wheel drive version in your area. AWD was the only drive type available when I got the car.
But I used live in snowy area, the SH-AWD(super handling all wheel drive system) was awesome, pretty confident with that.
For services and maintenances, Honda mechanics know how to do.
Overall, MDX is an unibody chassis SUV, not a real off-roader, so it gives you excellent on-road driving experience and relatively good fuel economy. It’s not a full size SUV so in some situations you still wish you have a bigger vehicle. 2015’s Interior quality is okay, it works, but it’s not luxurious compares to Lexus or Infiniti.
I dropped that car at dealership 3 years ago when lease matured. And they charged me a fortune due to minor scratches on surface. Stealership.
Sometimes I still miss how good the handling is, and I still can’t find any SUV at that price range with that good handling.
BTW, buy one from friend, don’t pay too much.
They are excellent vehicles but if possible do not get it all wheel drive one they get worse gas mileage and tend to be super expensive to repair when they get high mileage on them
Yes make sure it doesn't have the ZF 9 speed
