Hi Scotty. What's your opinion on buying a used Lincoln Continental. 2017, under 20k miles, $29k.

2017 Lincoln Continental

under 20k miles

$29000.

Which engine?  How long do you plan to keep and how much mileage do you hope to put on?

3.0 V6 Twin Turbo. I'll be happy if it makes over 10 years / 100k miles.

Correction. The model I'm looking at is the 2.7 V6 TT

I would pass. None of the engines are reliable enough to be worth your time and money and the transmission being a 2002 GM partnered design doesn't impress me. Lincoln consistenly ranks low in all kinds of reliability surveys and Ford quality is downhill especially in the last decade or so.

The engine you mentioned is the 3.0 EcoBoost twin-turbo which is a recipy for disaster.

If you want a luxury sedan, I would look into a Lexus ES/GS.

I unfortunately dislike the current styling of lexus. I'm very attracted to the continental styling and size.

What about a lease?

Considerable. Not exactly desired.

Currently in Mazda CX5 lease. Just looking to to purchase something more powerful and more comfortable to keep for a while. I don't expect it to last as long as a Lexus but I don't want to buy junk either.

In that case, check out Day Walker's link below he has a good analysis on the Continental.
I mean its still relatively new so it may or may not reach 100k miles, I doubt it with an EcoBoost engine and Focus transmission.

Thanks for the help.

See below:  I would just lease one if you really want one.
