Which aftermarket oil pump for my 1992 Mitsubishi GTO?

Hi there. Angela here from New Zealand.

I need to replace the oil pump on my 1992 manual N/A Mitsubishi GTO.  I missed torquing a nut and it fell between the cambelt and the guard on the oil pump damaging the seal.  Although the leak is not bad, oil is splashing about under the lower guard and getting on the exhaust. Plus it will be messing up my clean motor and getting on my new cam belt.  What are your opinions on FAI and Melling.  OEM literally cost an arm and a leg.  Regards

Aftermarket is fine in general for the most part. There also be OEM+ so you can look into that as well if you wish. In general after some reasearch I would go with the Melling over the FAI due to finding the FAI parts on both amazon and Ebay. Not to say that you can't find good things on Ebay or amazon but if an part that suppose to be new shows up on those sites I have less trust that to say if it were to appear on another website such as fpceuro for euro cars. Couldn't tell ya what the JDM equivalent is.

thank you for that.
