Hi there, just wondering your thoughts on the new engines the 2025 rams are going to have. I have 2 rams with 5.7 hemi engine and am quite pleased with them. Just wondering your thoughts.

RAM is owned by Fiat/Stellantis. Scotty calls them one of the "three stooges".  The Dutch + Italians do not know how to make reliable vehicles, and the hemi is not the engine it once was.

See Scotty's review videos at the bottom of the main page.

Other than that, NOBODY without a time machine knows what a 2025 engine will do, but I wouldn't expect much from it.

FYI, you type your question into the big box, not the title where it will be cut off. I've fixed it for you.

Thanks, I’m new to this lol

Plastic control arm on a RAM truck

Stellantis is really pulling out the stops for making stuff as cheap as possible. I'll never ride in a new Dodge pickup.

The control arm even looks like a hunk of injection molded plastic. I've never seen anything like this on a car, it's bewildering!

I know. I guess the derisive term "pavement princess" is what they're going for now, lol. People willingly blow $80k on trucks that have a quad cab and a tiny beds.

A plastic control arm? That’s alarming! @mmj and others, what government agency should have oversight of this safety concern…. the NHTSA, DOT, other? How is this permissible?

the lower control arm bears the weight of the vehicle and impacts. The top one basically just keeps the wheel upright. But still ...

Holy shit! A plastic control arm on an expensive truck like that? I just did the control arms on my old Caprice, they weighed a ton.

Inline 6 is a very appealing architecture. But I can’t imagine the first few years of a Stellantis twin-turbo engine is going to go smoothly.  To quote the famous banker, Henry Potter, “Not with MY money!”

If you want a turbo-6 half-ton, the Tundra is probably the best, with the 3.5 Ecoboost as distant second.  But use the search bar, because there’s tons of truck opinions in the archive.
