High oil pressure in old ram

Hey Scotty,

I got a 1992 Ram B350 5.9L camper van that is my primary vehicle I’ve used for work for the past few thousand miles and it’s been great for the 1k I paid for it.

The only concern is that the oil pressure gauge reads near the top right under where it reads as too high. The oil level is right smack middle of the dip stick lines for level.

the Manuel does recommend 10w-30 for more warmer temperature climate and 5w-30 for colder climate.

Someone told me those gauges read high sometimes when they get old but I have no idea how true that is.

The vehicle drives fine currently, is there anything I should be worried about?

Thank you!

Dashboard oil pressure gauges can be notoriously unreliable. Verify the actual oil pressure using a mechanical gauge.
