I have a 1991 Camaro RS with the 305 V8. When I started it this morning, I noticed a “burning “ smell. There was no smoke or anything. The oil gauge needle was moving back & forth towards the high end of the scam. I checked the fluid levels on everything and it was all good.

I have a 1991 Camaro RS with the 305 V8. When I started it this morning, I noticed a “burning “ smell. There was no smoke or anything. The oil gauge needle was moving back & forth towards the high end of the scam.
There's an oil pressure sending unit that monitors oil pressure. Check the oil pressure with a mechical gauge. The sending unit is probably wearing out if it's the original. It's 32 years old. The only thing I really can't explain is the "burning" smell.
