1996 GMC Sierra 1500 V6. Oil pressure is high resulting in oil filter gasket blowing out. Is it the oil pump, clogged passage or internal bearings? Please help me get started?

Sounds like your oil pressure relief valve is stuck.

It could also be the clogged passages.

Make sure your oil pressure sending unit isn't crudded up and giving a false reading.
