- Scotty I have a 1990 f150 162,000 miles with a 4.9 straight six that I bought new, when barely moving in traffic temp goes way up I've changed the thermostat, fan clutch, radiator and cooling sensor and a water pump about six months ago, could one of those things I put in be bad, I'm lost. Long as I'm moving temp is fine. {black}:scared:

That kind of symptom is usually caused by a bad radiator fan. Is the new fan clutch working properly? (It's not unusual these days for new parts to be defective.) Fan blades in good shape? Does the radiator have a fan shroud?
