What happens if I don’t change the VTC actuator in my 2008 Accord?

2008 Accord, 136,000 miles, no codes, manual trans, oil changed every 5,000 miles.

2008 Honda 4 cyl. Rattle on cold start up. What happens if I don't change out the vct valve?

Before thinking about the VCT system, consider your timing chain.  Cold start rattle is a symptom of a failed timing chain tensioner.  Your oil must be clean for these systems to work properly.  Please provide ALL the information requested in the first paragraph.  Model, mileage???
