Hi guys!
I have a 2021 Honda Accord LX 1.5T but i want to trade in for another car. I’m between the 2022 Honda Accord 2.0T or the 2021 Mazda 6 Carbon Edition.
I love the Honda for reliability and how fast it is but Mazdas interior is amazing!! Including all those nice features that Honda does not offer :/
Really hard to choose!!!! Help me guys!!!!
If you want my honest and brutal opinion, I don't see the point to trade in your 2021 Accord for either the 2022 Accord or the Mazda 6.
for one, there is no standout differences between the 2021 Accord and the 2022 Accord. A little change in cosmetic isn't considerable. Secondly, why trade in a 2021 car for another 2021 car?
And most importantly if you care about money, you've already lost ~3,000 dollars after you drove your current 2021 Accord off the lot. If you sell it now, you will have to add whatever you still owe on your current accord on top of the next financing amount of your new car. That's not a smart move. If you didn't finance your current Accord and bought it right off, it's still not a smart move to trade it in for a different new car.
I get your point and yes you’re completely right. I’m aware of that and that was probably my mistake. But I wasn’t approved for a more expensive car when I got this Accord LX and the difference of the 2022 is that that one is not a cvt and has bigger engine and is way more reliable in some way besides all the extra features that the LX trim doesn’t have. The other trim I want is the 2.0T Sport. And the Mazda would be because has a lot of nice features that my base accord doesn’t have. I know I’m losing money but I don’t want to pay for something I do t like that much
So first of all in this market you most likely won't be losing anything on the 2021 Accord and even be making profit when you sell it. But first make sure you can secure the other car (whichever you decide on) at msrp to make doing this move worth it. Then see what they offer you for the accord and go from there. If you own the car (no loans or anything) you're not going to lose money. I've used this example for other posts too that a friend had a 2018 Highlander, sold it private party and bought a brand new one of the same trim as msrp, and they were left with extra cash in their pocket.
Thanks the advice but what car do you think is better
Personally I would go with the Honda Accord, but test drive the Mazda too if you haven't to see which one you prefer.
I prefer the Mazda. You should test drive both and see which one you like best.
The Mazda is going to be the more luxurious option. It’s really a matter of which one you are more comfortable driving every day. Both solid cars.
