Hi Scotty,

Like your youtube channel -- keep up the good work.

I am thinking of buying a 2021 acura ilx but I have some concern re long term intake valve problems because of the gdi as well as not being sure about the dual clutch tranny instead of a traditional single clutch type or cvt.

What is your experience regarding the 2.4 litre normally aspirated engine? Do the intake valves get more "gummed up" with oil deposits than a port injected engine (eg. 1.8 litre civic engine) over a long time eg. 100-150 kmiles? Or does Honda have the injector sometimes spray during the intake phase so the intake valve gets washed with fuel?

Also, what is your experience regarding the long term reliability of the dual clutch tranny assuming one doesn't abuse the thing with burnouts, hard shifts, etc. and as long as one changes the tranny fluid regularly?

Aside from the above, I like the vehicle and I know Hondas are generally pretty reliable over the long term.

Hope to get your opinion on this -- thank you.

PS. also a fellow York U alumnus class 2000

Wow you graduated 25 years after me. Honda's really don't have a problem with buildup like Volkswagens do I wouldn't worry about it
