Hey Scotty right now I am only 15, but am looking for a car for when I get my license. I am looking at older honda civics. I have heard you say bad things about honda auto transmissions. If I get an older one, about 2003-2007 should I stay away from an automatic still? Thank you!
For a young driver who’s learning to drive, it might be a good idea to buy a Civic with a standard transmission and have some great fun with it, rather than buying a boring automatic.
Honda does indeed make weak automatic transmissions when compared to any equivalent Toyota transmission.
No matter what car you buy, have it checked out by an honest mechanic before you buy it.

The 5 speed auto's are pretty solid. Get a 2007-2011 Civic stay away from 2006 and before.
