My 2005 Scion xb, automatic,134,000 Miles
Only when it's cold outside, below 35/40 degrees and the more cold the worse it is, there is a rattling noise like a loose fan. It is not coming from the engine or transmission. At a slow acceleration the noise is steady but fades as speed levels off or a hard acceleration it quites down quicker, again only happens when it's cold outside.
I do have audio if there is a way to post it.
Thank you in advance!

If it’s not one of the pulleys run by the drive belt, watch Scotty’s video on how to find the source of car noises.
In which part of the car can you hear that noise the loudest? Check the cooling fan motor assembly too.
I hear it more inside the car almost lije it's coming from under the dashboard I'm pretty sure it's not a pulley it only happens when it's cold.
It started last winter and I forgot all about it until I drove it when the temperature here in New Hampshire dropped to 30 degrees for 2 days and it's warmer now so no noise.
I'll also search for Scotty's video "how to find the source of car noises."
Watch Scotty’s video and check all the pulleys in your car - https://youtu.be/UqLXwN2GNeU
If you can’t upload the audio, make a video & post the link here.
