Scotty i have a 2005 scion xb with 235,000 miles automatic. It runs fine and has given me almost no problems ever ( only replaced 1 wheel bearing and engine mounts) How can I keep this thing going? I change the oil every 4k miles with synthetic blend oil . I know if I go to a shop they're just going to tell me I need this or that. What is the essential maintenance you recommend at this stage of my cars life or if its not broke dont fix it. Thanks - colin
Aside from oil changes which you are already doing, all fluids and filters need to be changed on schedule, spark plugs as well. Keep an eye out for small problems and nip them in the bud before they become big ones (as you did with the wheel bearing and engine mounts).
Keep to your factory recommended maintenance schedule and don't let your fluids go for too long.
