Hi all, slight issue here and would appreciate some help. I have a 2004 Honda Civic ima hybrid and it’s airbag light came on. Diagnosis shows the error code as “4-1 permanent DTC , open or increased front seat belt tensioner”
as a solution I bought a new whole belt and got it insulated but the light won’t go away? Have tried resetting through diagnosis tool but no luck. I must say that car has not been driven since but not sore if that would contribute toward resetting the light any way?

Are you able to clear code and then it comes back?
For starters I believe that the seat belts have a lifetime warranty on them so if all else fails you can verify with a dealership. I know honda had some problems around 2004 with seat belts. Otherwise just check the basic stuff like the yellow connector at seat belt. Disconnect battery, disconnect, look for corrosion inside connector and if need to clean with electrical spray cleaner etc., reconnect, and hopefully you will be able to clear code.
