Hello!
2010 Honda Crosstour EX-L AWD automatic @ 122,000 miles with California Emissions but I'm in Texas
I am having a shop replace the suspension and the rack and pinion. I am bringing my own parts. The shop says (NEEDS STRUTS, SWAY BAR END LINKS, RACK AND PINION AND OUTER TIE RODS). I am going to go ahead and order the Rack and Pinion (left/right) & Sway Bar BUSHINGS as well since they are right there.
My question is, if I am able to invest a little more in parts and labor, what else should I have replaced at this point while the sub-frame is removed?
Here is what I am thinking from what I have read so far:
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION MOUNT KIT
PRESSURE LINE HOSE
BALL JOINTS maybe, or do those later?
What else can I expect to be needing to change soon?
Any recommendations on brands to use or websites?
So far I have a Maval rack (partsgeek), KYB (struts/tirerack and hardware/amazon), Honda (springs, sway bar end links, outer tie rods). Trying to keep it OEM or better if possible.
Thank You All for any advice you have for me! I have transmission questions too, but will make another question for that.
Have a great day ya'll, and be safe out there 🙂
Well yeah you're better to stick to OEM cuz that cheap Chinese aftermarket stuff is off and junk. But it is a Honda and they're pretty well made. I would just look at it myself and see if Boots are ripped or torn or bushings are cracked. I'd replace all that rubber stuff if cracked or torn. Including the hoses for the brake system
@scottykilmer thank you, sir! funny, I can almost hear your voice when I read your comment 😆
