Scotty, after 107k miles, my '15 Civic CVT filler plug has been popping off. I read to clean the L-shaped vent, which I did, but it still does it. I just bought a new plug, but some others online said there's still popped off after they did just that. I change me cvt fluid every 50k, what could be causing it? Thanks.
I cleaned the vent thoroughly, but no difference. I don't know what could be causing it all of a sudden at 107k.
Dozens of people online are having the same problem.
pops off? Is it a rubber stopper or something?
The transmission must be plugged up and not venting properly.

Honda says it's from pressure buildup. Looks like you just need to keep it clean.

I will NEVER buy another Honda. It's as simple as that.
if you think this is a serious problem then you're in for a big surprise.
I agree with you, I wouldn’t recommend a modern Honda to anyone. I’m seeing so many Honda questions here and am hearing so many concerns from mechanics I know.
At 107k with only the plug falling out that’s minor compared to some issue people are having on here - like injectors at 30k and transmissions slipping at 60k.
Don't most all auto transmissions have some king of venting mechanism to prevent pressure build up and blowing out the seals? Sort of like differentials do?
all the ones I've seen have a tube right at the top

Yup, we saw the first three times you said it. No need to repeat yourself.
Can you show us a photo of your plug?
Maybe try replacing it? I think it’s a bad vent…
This is a new plug and the vent has been cleaned. So far, it's been on steady for 3 days. Some people online have eventually found that their new plug had popped off again eventually (don't know if all of those people have cleaned the vent). Never had to clean the vent before 107k miles.
