[Solved] 2005 Honda Element should I change the ATF?

Hey Scotty! I'm considering buying a 2005 Element with 165,000 miles but am concerned that the transmission fluid is a little dirty with no knowledge of it ever being changed. I have heard to not change it if it has never been done. I plan on keeping this car until it dies. Do you think that if I do not change the transmission fluid at this point that it could still go to over 300,000 miles? Thanks for all you do!

This is in reference to an automatic transmission and from a dealership. Thanks!

Absolutely nothing wrong in changing the fluid or filter, just don't flush it.

Honda's reliability goes back and forth. I would do some research first before buying. As far as changing fluid goes, you can do if you want but be careful. There is no direct result when changing the transmission fluid in your car.

Thanks, man.

If you do decide to change it, make sure you use the genuine Honda fluid for your transmission.
